Printing and packaging, every job a different one.

Labels, folding boxes and printed packaging, each job with its own artwork, material and run length. Frontlink calculates the quote, plans presses and finishing and shows where each job stands.

One order, its whole route.

In make-to-order manufacturing each order runs its own route past workstations. Follow the numbers: what Frontlink tracks for one order, from routing to delivery date.

  1. 1 / 6The order from your ERP

Order, quantity, delivery date and routing come from your ERP. Here: 40 frames for Van Dijk Techniek.

  2. 2 / 6Four operations, their own workstations

Sawing, welding, powder coating, assembly. Each operation can only run on workstations that can do it. Frontlink knows which.

  3. 3 / 6Ready to move on?

Is the material there, are the workstations capable, does the plan fit? What's missing is shown with the order.

  4. 4 / 6What the floor reports

Welding is in progress: 26 of 40 counted. Sawing is done. The rest is planned.

  5. 5 / 6Late, and visible

Welding runs a day over. Frontlink shows the delay and moves the rest of the route along.

  6. 6 / 6Ask Frontlink

Will we still make Friday? The answer comes from the route and the plan, with a proposal you approve.

What is different in this industry.

  1. A price by today

Customers want a price today for an unusual size or material. Frontlink calculates from your own machine rates and material prices, so the quote is fast and holds.

  2. Makeready on every press

Changing plates, dies and colours takes press time. Frontlink plans jobs with similar settings together and records the makeready time.

  3. Waiting for the proof

A job waits for the customer's approval. Frontlink shows which jobs are approved and ready to plan, and which are still waiting.

What it looks like in practice.

A customer orders 40,000 labels in a new shape. Frontlink calculates the price with the die, the material and the press time, and once the proof is approved plans the job next to a run with the same colours.

Example with fictional data.

  • Proof approved by customerMon 11:20
  • Printing on press 2, same colours as previous jobTue 07:00

Frequently asked questions.

Can Frontlink calculate our quotes?

Yes. You record your machines, rates and materials once, and Frontlink calculates every quote from them, with price breaks per quantity.

Does it plan finishing too?

Yes. Printing, die cutting, folding and gluing are separate operations, each planned on its own machine.

Do we see what a job really cost?

Yes. Actual press time, makeready and waste per job are compared with the quote.
