MQTT

Machines over MQTT, counted live.

Machines and sensors that publish over MQTT report counts, rate and stops straight to Frontlink through the edge gateway in your factory. You see output and downtime per order without anyone writing it down.

MQTT and Frontlink.

MQTT is a lightweight publish and subscribe protocol used by many sensors, IoT devices and newer machines. The Frontlink edge gateway subscribes to your MQTT broker, or acts as one, and maps topics to counts, stops and measurements per machine.

Plain JSON messages and Sparkplug B are both supported, so existing flows from Node-RED, Telegraf or your machine builder can stay as they are.

What moves between them.

  1. Counts and rate per order

Every count lands on the order running at that moment, so output per batch is known without a tally sheet.

  2. Stops with a reason

A stop is detected automatically. The operator only picks the reason on the screen at the line.

  3. Sensors next to the batch

Temperatures, pressures and weights are stored with the batch they belong to.

How we connect it.

  1. The gateway joins your network

A small edge gateway in the factory subscribes to your broker, or acts as one if you do not have one yet.

  2. We map the topics

Together we decide which topics mean a count, a stop or a measurement, per machine.

  3. It keeps working offline

If the internet drops out, the gateway buffers everything and sends it on once the connection is back.

Frequently asked questions.

Our machines do not speak MQTT. Now what?

The gateway also reads OPC UA and Modbus, and simple counters through an input module. Or you start with recording on the tablet.

Is the gateway reachable from the internet?

No. It only connects outward to Frontlink, over an encrypted connection.

Do you support Sparkplug B?

Yes, next to plain JSON messages.

Can we keep our existing broker?

Yes. The gateway subscribes to your broker, such as Mosquitto, HiveMQ or EMQX.
