SAP Business One and the floor, on the same order.
Sales and production orders from SAP Business One reach the floor with their bills of materials, batches and due dates. Output, consumption and scrap go back to the same production order.
SAP Business One and Frontlink.
Frontlink connects to SAP Business One through the Service Layer. Sales orders, production orders, bills of materials, items, batches and warehouses come from SAP; receipts from production, issues for production, batches and scrap are posted back to the same production order.
It suits manufacturers that run finance, purchasing and sales in SAP Business One but plan and register production on paper, whiteboards or spreadsheets, and want the floor and the ERP to show the same figures.
- Direction
- Both ways
- Data exchanged
- Sales and production orders, bills of materials, items, batches, warehouses, output and consumption
- How it connects
- SAP Business One Service Layer
- Access
- Granted by your IT or SAP partner, per company database
- Typical lead time
- Two to three weeks, including a test on a test company
What moves between them.
- Production orders become planned work
Released production orders and sales orders arrive with items, quantities and due dates, and land on the planning board.
- BOMs, batches and warehouses stay leading
Items, bills of materials, batches and bin locations stay in SAP Business One. Frontlink reads them, so the floor works from the same data.
- Output and consumption are posted back
Receipts from production and issues for production are posted to the order with the right batches. SAP posts backflushed material itself, so nothing is consumed twice.
How we connect it.
- Your partner grants access
Your IT or SAP partner makes the Service Layer reachable for Frontlink, with a dedicated user and only the permissions needed.
- We agree on the fields
Together with you and your partner we decide which orders, warehouses and fields Frontlink reads and what it posts.
- Tested on a test company first
We connect to a copy of your company database first. Only when the postings are right does production follow.
Other integrations.
Where you see it in Frontlink.
- Orders and customer contactRequests arrive by email, as PDF or Excel. Frontlink calculates the quote, prepares the order in your ERP and keeps the customer informed all the way to shipment.
- PlanningA plan that knows what is really happening on the floor. Orders come from your ERP, progress comes from the line, and when something moves the warehouse, sales and the customer know straight away.
- Warehouse and stockFrontlink knows per lot what is there, where it is and how long it is good for. The warehouse picks by shelf life, stock matches what was really used, and a lot can be traced in one click.
Frequently asked questions.
Does it work with SAP Business One on SQL Server and on HANA?
Yes. Frontlink connects through the Service Layer, which runs on both databases. We cover your version and feature pack in the intake.
Our SAP Business One is hosted by a partner. Does that work?
Yes. The hosting partner makes the Service Layer reachable for Frontlink. If the server is on your premises, we arrange access together with your IT.
Do we need an extra SAP licence?
Frontlink uses its own user in SAP Business One. Whether that needs an extra licence depends on your contract. We settle it with your partner up front.
Who maintains the connection?
We do. New SAP Business One feature packs are tested by us before they reach your connection.
